Egypt - One day in the life of a working child
- Published by Hornemann, SarahIn Egypt, there are 7 million children working in the fields or in workshops, to better the income of their families. They often begin to work at five years old and have no chance to go to school or get an education to ensure their future.
The documentary above is about Terre des hommes’ project in Assiut, Upper Egypt, where children work from dawn till dusk like adults. Today, thanks to the collaboration between Terre des hommes, the families and the employers, the children can learn to read and write alongside their work.
