Terre des hommes Foundation is active in Vietnam since 1992, working in partnership with local organisations to allow children and young people in street situation to build a future that they have chosen for themselves. After 19 years, based on the rapid development of the country but also on the competences acquired by its partner organisations, the Foundation decided to stop its activities in Vietnam to focus on another country of the region, Myanmar.
At the end of this year, the team of the delegation wished to organise a big party for the children, with the children, the partners and other collaborators of Terre des hommes. A big news to celebrate is that all projects have found funding for the coming period and will be able to continue their activities. This party took place on Saturday 18 December in Ho Chi Minh City, in the presence of the Ambassador of Switzerland in Vietnam. On this occasion, the City People’s Committee awarded a certificate of merit to Tdh; the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations offered the Medal for Peace and Friendship among all People to Margrit Schlosser, and the HCMC Union of Friendship Organisations granted merit certificates to the whole delegation team. Here is a of pictures that try to capture the spirit of the party, festive and moving. The speech of Margrit Schlosser, Terre des hommes delegate in Vietnam since 2003, completes the picture.
