Support for street-working children in Afghanistan
As part of a Child Right consortium financed by the European Union, Terre des hommes (Tdh) intervenes in order to help street children in Afghanistan. This project gathers four national and international NGOs to fight for their rights and better the living conditions of children working as shoe cleaner, rubbish collector or water seller. Children have been given lessons as part of an informal education project and vocational training. There they can learn to read and write or just come to play and relax in various drop-in centres. They benefit although from social and legal help as well as psychological and health advice.
