Music of the Future - Together we are strong
What can you personally do to help children living on the streets in other parts of the world? Terre des hommes invites dedicated people of all ages to play music, sing or perform on the streets of Switzerland to show their solidarity with children and adolescents in other countries who have no choice but to live and work on the streets. Of course we do appreciate benefit performances indoors as well; all the money collected goes towards Terre des hommes projects for children in a street situation. If we all together support these children and their rights, their daily life will be improved considerably.

Who? When? Where?
In 2008, more than 3'000 children and adults all over Switzerland performed to benefit children in street situations, the total revenue of donation was CHF 120'000.
The activities "Music for children in street situations" are locally organized by volunteers and coordinated by our Head Office. The project is held during the whole year all over Switzerland with regional focuses.

How?
An authorization from the municipality or from the relevant landowners is mandatory for performances on the streets or at public areas. We do appreciate if the performing group organizes the authorization on its own, but we can help where needed. We reference all activities of “Music for children in stree situations” on our Website and in regional newspapers. Therefore we need to know all the details of your performance, and please inform us of any change so that we can adapt accordingly. Terre des hommes will provide you with posters, information material, badges and caps for your performances.

Artists who support Tdh

Henri Dès, has been supporting the projects of Terre des hommes for children in a street situation.
«I get very indignant when I see the injustice done to children living in a street situation: if you have no roof to sleep under nor parents to care for you, how can you go ahead with confidence and build a decent future?

The scintillating violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja has been supporting the projects of Terre des hommes for children in a street situation since 2008.

In my own home country, Moldova, there are so many children who cannot go to school; they have to work in the fields or are victims of trafficking, but now Terre des hommes is offering them new perspectives. Nina and Peter Reber have been supporting Terre des hommes since 2005, in particular its program called "An Air of Solidarity", which helps children living in a street situation.
"We back this program because Nina and I know what it means to have a home and loved ones, and to be able to look after them. For so many children in the world, the reality is quite different. This is why we encourage you from our hearts to participate in the program: organize a little musical performance, in the street, in a community center, it doesn't matter where! The ticket money or donations can go to the Terre des hommes' projects to help "Children in a street situation".
