Albania has welcomed many Afghan refugees in recent years. The Tdh team in the country has been able to help these children who have suffered significant stress and trauma through psychosocial support and the YouCreate methodology developed with a local partner.

The aim is to create a safe and positive space for the children to express themselves through art and develop personal skills, such as drawing and painting.

Hazira, one of the Afghan girls involved in the programme says: «My wish is that one day we will live in peace. I drew a white dove and on each wing a flag, the flags of Albania and Afghanistan. The people here have done incredible things for us, we just want to thank them.»
