Happy Birthday Terre des hommes!
This 22 July the movement “Terre des hommes” celebrated its birthday. It had been 50 years since Edmond Kaiser and his friends decided to found “Terre des hommes – a movement of combat and direct intervention to help children in need”. This 22 July 2010 was a joyous day of celebrations dedicated to making a difference for present and future generations.
In the framework of the celebrations a sculpture by Robin Michel, sponsored kindly by the city of Lausanne, founding city of the federation, was inaugurated. This piece of art at the Vallée de la Jeunesse in Lausanne marks the past 50 years of child relief and stands for Tdh’s future commitment.
But the party continues! After the concert of Gassim Bohssain, the composer of Tdh’s birthday song, and numerous animations for children and adults, Tdh will continue to celebrate its 50 years of existence in Switzerland and abroad throughout the year.
