In South Sudan, time is running out

Famine is threatening half of the population in South Sudan. Children´s needs cannot wait. Our teams in the field are combining their efforts to support the most vulnerable children and to provide emergency aid to avoid a mass famine.

In the south of the country, we improve the access to drinking water and hygiene for families and offer emergency food aid. In Yei, for example, “almost 100 water points have been repaired. Our teams are also distributing hygiene items to prevent the spread of diseases”, explains Steve Ringel, Emergency Manager at Terre des hommes. We intervene in these regions before the famine is officially declared, and before it’s too late.

In the north, in Unity State, we work together with our local partner UNIDO to evaluate the needs of the families in detail. We are planning to provide food aid, improve the access to water, hygiene and health and to strengthen child protection.

Together we can save lives. Your donations support our teams in South Sudan and make it possible to provide direct aid to the most vulnerable children.
