Why this campaign?
We strongly believe that each child, whatever their living conditions may be, has the right to dream, have fun and hope. Every child – in the world as in Switzerland – has the right to a childhood. It’s that simple.
The objective of our campaign is to raise awareness among the Swiss public in regards to the protection of children worldwide, who are the first victims of evil committed by adults. "Children only demand to grow up and flourish. It is not just a need but a right. As adults, it is our duty to protect them and give them the means to build the world of tomorrow. This is what we fight for every day", recalls Jessica Schweizer, who is the director of the communication and fundraising department of Terre des hommes and first and foremost a mother herself.
Preserving childhood, the priority of Tdh
There are situations which a child should never experience: war, the loss of a loved one, hunger, fear. However, millions of children in the world suffer these misfortunes. Our experts in child protection endeavour each day to make the life of children more and more joyful.
“Terre d’aventure, Terre d’imagination, Terre de fantaisie, Terre de surprise…” The universe of children has no borders. In order for them to be able to flourish and develop as confidently as possible, we offer them a safe space away from violence, educational activities, psychological and medical care and fun moments which are key to improve their well-being.
Creating a secure environment for refugee children
Terre des hommes improves the situation of refugee children in Jordan by creating a space where they can play, learn and socialize. This secure environment helps them gain self-confidence, make friends and simply enjoy their childhood. Discover their story through our video:
